Hi!

I'm Mara, thanks for visiting my blog! I will be traveling around the world for the next years and explore amazing places in different countries! I am always seeking Adventures, Good Food, Martial Arts Experiences, Unique and sometimes Weird Stuff. \(^o^)/

GOA - HIPPIE PARADISE

Goa is known as a former Hippie paradise. Hippies were/are a colorful folk, where it was hard to divide longhaired girls form boys. Colorful cloths, psychedelic music and a feeling of freedom. Those times might be long gone, but you can still find some relics of the once so brig blooming Hippies in Goa. You might have heard or have been on a GOA PARTY, but it is nothing compared to the original ones in Goa. A well-known place and one you should definitively check out is the HILLTOP. The biggest parties are on Sunday and start around 5pm. You will find all kind of people there, from locals to backpackers and even some Hippies. Sometimes internationally known DJ’s perform at trance parties, so – don’t miss it!

Lose and Find yourself at Hilltop

Beach Club Party

Every Wednesday there’s a famous Hippie MARKET in ANJUNA. Go early in the morning, when the sun is still low. You can find all kind of things there; colorful decoration, lamps, cloths, jewelry just all the odds and ends of such markets. Afterwards have a drink at the beachfront and hang out in a Café. We saw some women carrying huge blocks of Ice on their.

Told you..a huge ice block! Brain Freeze the other way

You might notice, that there are a lot of Russian people around. This is because most of Goa belongs to Russians now. If you are looking for cheap places to stay I recommend you to look for Beach Huts. Our friends travel to India for more than 15 years and arranged something for us. The couple that rented us our cottage also organized different workshops, where we could attend. The place was far away from all the tourist resorts and most of the time we were almost alone at the beach.

There are some more lively places like ARAMBOL with the delicious DOUBLE DUTCH Restaurant, which we visited as often as we could. In Arambol is also a Shopping Street and if you walk along the HARMAL BEACH towards north, you will find a way along the cliffs, through a market, leading to a little hidden paradise.

The SUNSETS are unforgettable.

At the beaches are countless restaurants. I tried my very first WATERMELON JUICE in Goa and will love it forever!

Rent a SCOOTER and cruise around in Goa. Just be careful of the bumps everywhere and where the unstylish helmet - we saw more than one bloody accident.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT GOA?

I would recommend in the Autumn and Winter. We were there from December to January and had perfect weather and not many tourists around.

The most popular time is in Summer from April to June.

July to September is Monsoon Season.
